At some of our major exhibitions the NWMG runs a model making session for children.

Sometimes they start by being experimental, becoming familiar with the parts, and then discover that they have made something to which they can give a name.   Or they start wishing to make a particular object and have to decide which parts to use.

Sometimes they follow instructions- "conventional, but by far the most efficient way of getting results"

Whichever way, we have fun and stretch imaginations.   We use 1970’s plastic Meccano - straightforward, easy to use and which has cog wheels, long girders, sprockets, chains and caterpillar track. Any donations of that rare part - the worm - would be appreciated."
